Common questions
Where is my data stored? Is it backed up?
Your habits, tasks, goals, check-ins, focus sessions and settings are stored on your iPhone.
If you create an account, Habyss also keeps a backup of your habits, tasks, goals and check-ins so you can restore them or use Habyss on another device. Without an account there is no copy anywhere else, so deleting the app deletes your data.
Does Echo send what I write to an AI company?
No. Echo, the coach, runs on your iPhone. It uses Apple Intelligence where your iPhone supports it, or a model you choose to download in Echo’s settings. Nothing you write is sent to an AI service.
The downloaded model is large, so download it on Wi-Fi with the app open. Replies can be slower on older iPhones.
What can my friends see?
Your display name, @username, photo, Marks, rank, streak, your daily card, and the habits, tasks and goals you choose to share with them. Your status (focusing, in the app, asleep) is shown only to friends.
You can turn off sharing your progress in Settings, and remove or block anyone at any time. The leaderboard shows your name, photo and Marks only to people in your league.
What does Habyss do with Apple Health?
Habyss reads your sleep from Apple Health to fill in your sleep habits. A night that reaches your sleep goal earns Marks the next morning.
It only reads Health if you allow it. Manage it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Habyss; Habyss works without it.
Does Habyss cost anything?
Every feature is free during the beta. You can buy the developer a coffee in the app: it is a one-off tip through Apple, unlocks nothing, and refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
My reminders are not arriving
- Check Settings › Notifications › Habyss and confirm Allow Notifications is on.
- Make sure a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb is not silencing them.
- For reminders tied to a place (such as Home or Work), Habyss needs location permission set to Always.
- Low Power Mode can delay background delivery.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, go to Settings › Privacy › Delete account. It removes your account, profile, photo, backup, friends and posts from the server, and everything on your iPhone. It cannot be undone.
Feedback you sent earlier is kept without your name.
Is there an Android, Mac or Windows version?
Not yet. Habyss is built for iPhone first; Android, Mac and Windows are coming. Join the waitlist to hear when they open.
